The most common fault in golf -
The most important component of the golf club
Other than a putter all other clubs performance is controlled by the shaft, it acts like the gearbox in your car, transferring your power to the head, get the wrong shaft and your wasting power.
Golf shafts vary from each other in many ways, the characteristics designed in include:
Each element is important and you should be considering them when looking for the best results.
Unfortunately the other things you have to consider are:
How shafts can help reduce that slice.
There are several reasons why a player slices the ball, most of them can be helped by correct choice of shaft and head. The torque of the shaft can help to close the face of the club as it comes through impact, match it to a suitable head design and that driver will become your friend.
The only way to correctly choose a shaft is a fitting session with someone who knows about shafts, remember a launch monitor only gives out numbers, they still have to be interpreted correctly. We spend hours working with shafts its important we understand them, so you can benefit from that knowledge.
Spend £30 for a fitting and save hundreds buying clubs that have the wrong shafts fitted....
DONT go buying a new driver just because you've read the latest magazine review, your EXISTING driver may well be the one for you with the correct shaft fitted.
Shafts start from
Spine aligning golf shafts also know as Puring, is in my opinion one of the MOST important processes you can have done to your clubs, especially to graphite shafts.
If you want to hit the ball LONGER, HIGHER and STRAIGHTER then you need to get your shafts checked for their spines orientation, (This presumes you've got the correct shafts to start with!).
We can check your clubs, and if necessary re-
The simplest description of a shafts spine would be the location of the strongest side, shafts are not uniform throughout their radius, a badly located spine will cause the head of the club to return back to the ball inconsistently resulting in loss of distance, and accuracy.
